afternoon tea

We put the kettle on between 3pm and 5pm in The London Carriage Works. You can book with reception in advance or on arrival. Freshly baked scones, clotted cream and jam, traditional finger sandwiches and delicious cakes with loose leaf tea of choice or, and Prosecco. Some of our cakes and bread can be made gluten free or vegan. If we have 48 hours notice, we can accommodate a complete gluten free or vegan afternoon tea. 

airports

Liverpool John Lennon Airport (JLA) and Manchester Airport are 30 and 60 mins away respectively. We are happy to organise either a taxi or chauffeur service on your behalf (to JLA there is a regular local bus service). Don't hesitate to ask reception for help with transport and information on flight times. 

babies

Baby cots are available, as are some vital supplies – nappies, wipes and changing mats. Registered baby sitters and nannies can be arranged via a local nursery. Call reception for further information.

bar

The London Carriage Works bar is open all day until 11pm and midnight Friday and Saturday nights. Sit yourself on a sofa or high stool and enjoy the buzz. After hours, guests may be requested to move to the bookroom – next to the reception – service can then be continued by the night team.

breakfast

A cooked breakfast - from full 'Liverpool' to eggs benedict coupled with a continental buffet is £18.50. If booked in advance of your stay this is discounted to £13.50 - a saving of £5 per person. Breakfast is served in the restaurant, sofa or table. Monday to Friday: 7am - 10am Saturday and Sunday: 8am - 11am. Our busy times at weekends are between 9am and 10:30am. We also offer an full vegan and gluten free breakfast.

We have an office, computer and printer available for guest use and reception will be happy to help with your administration needs. Our fax number is +44 151 709 2454.

check in

Check in is from 3pm, check out by 11am Monday to Friday and noon Saturday and Sunday. If you are arriving before check in we will look after your bags while you go to explore. Late departures can be arranged, just ask reception. 

children

We have toys, colouring books and dvds for your darlings. We will run them up to your room. Just send out the SOS and they’re yours.

The London Carriage Works is the name of our restaurant, it is AA starred and has an AA Notable Wine List 2018. Service times are:

8am - 11am Saturday and Sunday

Our guests are welcome to relax anytime in the restaurant with drinks service between these hours. We advise guests to book in advance for Friday and Saturday nights. 

dogs

We love dogs! There is a one off charge of £15 per stay. We can provide bedding, toys and walks; speak to our reception team for more details. Guide and Assistance dogs are welcome in The London Carriage Works and all four legged guests are welcome on the sofa side of the restaurant. 

exercise

Ask at reception for good flat, uphill and downhill running routes, we can provide you with maps that take you to Sefton park, Princes Park or the waterfront. Our 24-hour gym has treadmills, bike, cross trainer, rowing machine and free weights. 

green

We are open every day, all day and all year - so we are very conscious that we manage our waste and energy use responsibly. We want to let you know that we recycle everything that is recyclable and that we keep the colour green in our heads with all our business relationships.

Call reception for assistance with any of the following: car hire and travel enquiries, clubs and bars, flowers, meeting rooms, restaurants, secretarial services, shopping, sightseeing, theatre and entertainment or travel arrangements.

gym

Our 24-hour gym has treadmills, bike, cross trainer, rowing machine and free weights. Please ask at reception for the access code.

internet access

We have free Wi-Fi in our rooms and public areas.

irons

Irons and ironing boards are available in your room. We are a dab hand ourselves at a cutting-edge crease, so just let us know if we can do it for you (at no charge).

massage & manicure

For tips and toes, health and beauty therapists are available for a variety of treatments in the privacy of your own room. Please give as much notice as possible when booking. Each treatment lasts approximately an hour.

aromatherapy massage 
An aromatic treatment promoting deep relaxation and well being.

luxury aromatherapy facials
Includes massage to face, scalp and arms whilst face masks and oils are left to draw out toxins and moisturise. 

indian head massage 
Western interpretation of a traditional Indian therapy, this treatment can relax or invigorate but has an overall balancing effect. 

swedish massage 
Full body, deep work massage. No nonsense. 

reflexology 
Reflexology is based on the principle that there are areas or reflex points on the feet and the hands that correspond to each organ, gland and structure in the body. By working on these reflexes, tension is reduced throughout the whole body. 

shiatsu 
From Japan, shiatsu uses hand pressure and manipulative techniques to balance the body’s energy and promote good health.

Please note there is a 12-hour cancellation policy with all treatments – if cancellation is after 12 hours, 50% of treatment is payable.

meeting and business rooms

We offer five meeting areas, for private dining, exhibitions, screenings and conferencing. Facilities include TV, dvd player, telephones, and Wi-Fi. For further information and menus, please ask reception.

ren (it’s Swedish for clean)

We hope you enjoy the ren skincare, do take them home with you. If you love them as much as we do we have a selection of retail sizes in reception. Please refer to the list in your desk drawer for the full range of products.

room service

24-hour room service is available. Please look at the TLCW à la carte menu for inspiration, breakfast, lunch, dinner or just an apple? Between 10pm and 7am a simple night service menu takes over. There will be a £3.50 charge per tray (unless it’s just the apple). For drinks, from aperitifs to bedtime hot chocolate, there is no tray charge.

smoking

All our rooms are non-smoking. We will charge £100 if we find we have to deep clean the room after a guest has chosen to smoke.

trains

The closest main line station is Liverpool Lime Street, 15 minutes walk away or a short taxi ride. It also has local lines north and south to Chester. If you would like times, tickets, or transport, please call reception.
